When to Consider a Facial Peel

When to Consider a Facial Peel

A facial peel is a perfect place to start if you desire clearer, healthier-looking skin. Before your facial, your provider will perform a skin analysis. This gives us a proper understanding of your skin type and needs. From there, we create an individualized treatment plan and offer recommendations tailored specifically for your skin.

At Orange Coast Dermatology, we offer multiple facials for all skin types. Our facial peels are designed to rejuvenate your skin and revitalize your appearance. We offer the following facials and peels to address a range of skin concerns.

Our team of talented and experienced cosmetic and medical dermatologists offers many services to help you feel confident about your skin. Facial peels are one of our most popular services because they improve skin health.

The following are some signs that you can benefit from a facial peel.

Reason # 1: Reduce the appearance of acne scars

Our team provides you with a custom solution to carefully slough off the top layer of your skin. As it heals, a new, soft, smoother layer of skin emerges. The result is a diminished appearance of acne scars.

Reason # 2: Address brown spots and even out skin tone

Prolonged sun exposure can cause dark areas on the skin, called hyperpigmentation. A facial peel can target these areas, lightening and reducing them.

Reason # 3: Minimize crow’s feet

The delicate eye area often bears the most evidence of the aging process, with thin lines spreading from the corners of the eyes, called crow's feet. Our facial peels are well suited to minimize the appearance of crow’s feet.

Reason # 4: Address red splotches

Facial peels can address flaws such as red splotches. We can apply a tailor-made chemical solution designed to even out blotchy areas and significantly reduce redness. The result is bright, smooth, luminous skin that you will love.

What to expect during your facial peel

We provide three levels of peels: light, medium, and deep. Regardless of the type you choose, the procedure is conducted in-office in less than an hour. First, we help you relax in a private room where we numb the treatment area.

After applying the solution, we'll use warm compresses and cloths to help remove it after the designated time. A peel can be slightly uncomfortable, so we give you some pain medicine to help relieve your discomfort. When we're finished, we provide some aftercare instructions, and you'll be on your way.

If you’re ready for smoother, healthier-looking skin, then you’re ready for a professional chemical peel. To get started on the path to brighter skin, give us a call to schedule a visit with one of our top-quality dermatologists. We have an office in Rancho Santa Margarita and Mission Viejo, California.
